My story
Dogs have always been at the heart of my life. I’ve been surrounded by them for as long as I can remember and I truly cannot imagine my life without their company. Being with and caring for dogs brings me the greatest sense of joy and fulfilment – it’s what inspires everything I do. My friends and family call me the “dog lady” and rightly so… Ever since I was a child, I was completely obsessed with dogs of all breeds and would often drag my grandmother to every dog show in town.
How I became a dog groomer
Despite having a bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Amsterdam and having a job in a tech company, it quickly became clear that my ideal clientele had four legs, no idea what circling back means and felt no need to “touch base”. That’s when I decided to make a bold career pivot, choosing to follow my lifelong passion for dogs. What some might call a deep love for dogs (others might say a mild obsession) ultimately led me to retrain and pursue grooming as a profession.
I once again started from zero. Eager to gain as much knowledge as possible, I earned my first qualification from Tauro Grooming Academy in Lithuania – a respected name in luxury pet care. Whilst learning every aspect of the craft I worked my way from receptionist to assistant to professional dog groomer. As a groomer I also attended the World Congress in Rimini, Italy, hosted by Iv San Bernard, another leading global brand in pet care. There, I deepened my expertise in canine skin and coat care, learning advanced techniques to ensure every dog I groom receives the highest standard of care and comfort. I believe in continuous learning which is why I never stop educating myself – from attending online seminars to following the newest developments in pet care products.
For me, grooming is more than just making dogs look beautiful – it’s about their health, happiness, and well-being. Every dog that comes through my door is treated with the same love, patience and care as my own.
I cannot wait to welcome your furry friends at my salon.
Love,
Gigi
